Business Description

Solkatten implements two services. Short-term supervision/leisure for school youth over 12 years old and short-term stay. The right to short-term supervision/leisure applies to children/youth before and after school, during holidays, study days, and longer breaks such as summer vacation. Short-term stay offers the user a change of environment, a meaningful stay individually and in groups, as well as relief for relatives.

Job Responsibilities

Solkatten's short-term stay and short-term supervision work with users who have services according to LSS. The role of the support educator is to work based on each user's needs/conditions/interests to develop the ability and opportunity for independence and participation in society through appropriately designed support, guidance, and pedagogy. You will be responsible for the educational planning in consultation with other employees and the unit manager. The position includes collaboration/experience exchange with other support educators within LSS to develop pedagogical working methods.

Qualifications

You have a university/college education as a leisure educator/special educator/support educator or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent. Education and experience in the LSS operational area are of great importance, as well as personal suitability and work experience. Within the framework of the national minority language law, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.

Driving license B is a requirement

Working Hours/Duration

Full-time, permanent employment. Working hours during the day, evening, and weekends. A probationary period may apply
